Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies

ECI was selected as the agency of record for ASOP Global to plan and implement strategic public relations and social media campaigns to generate awareness of the financial and health risks associated with buying prescription medicines online and the proliferation of illegal online pharmacies and counterfeit medicines.

Healthcare Providers Campaign

Most recently, we implemented the ASOP Global Healthcare Providers Campaign with 16 partners including the American Pharmacists Association and the American Medical Association to educate the 6 million pharmacists, physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers about this issue and provide them with resources to keep their patients safe online.

The campaign included writing and designing the new ASOP Global website, www.buysaferx.pharmacy; producing the Healthcare Providers Video; designing the BuySafeRx logo, an infographic and Facebook ad; producing and distributing a Multimedia News Release; implementing an aggressive social media campaign; conducting media outreach; a nationally syndicated podcast; and serving as the liaison with the PR staffs at each of the campaign partner organizations.

Older Americans Campaign

Previously, we launched the Older Americans Campaign with the Center for Safe Internet Pharmacies and National Consumers League to educate seniors and their caregivers. ECI produced and distributed a Multimedia News Release; designed an infographic; conducted extensive trade and social media outreach; and working with pharmacy, seniors, caregivers and other organizations to disseminate the materials; and a nationally syndicated podcast.

ASOP Global Consumer Campaign

For the first campaign in the spring of 2015, we implemented the ASOP Global Consumer Campaign, tagged #BuySafeRx, for which ECI produced the ASOP Global Overview Video; produced and distributed a Multimedia News Release; wrote all of the materials for a new “For the Media” section on their website; launched (and still manage) their LinkedIn and Twitter pages; conducted extensive media relations outreach; and facilitated the first eHealthRadio Network podcast. We also wrote “Battling the Epidemic of Illegal Online Drug Sellers and Counterfeit Medicines”, a blog published on USP’s Quality Matters Website, and promoted by ASOP Global, USP, NABP and all of ASOP’s members.
